The former workshop of Friedrich´s father (see photo below) today houses the Caspar David Friedrich Centre. Exhibitions present aspects of the life and work of the famous painter. They also recall that Caspar was a son of a soap and candle maker. Apart from there is also a number of other cultural events taking place in this building throughout the year.

It is very easy to  find the Centre: It is situated between C.-D.-Friedrich-Straße and Turmgasse at the bottom of the tower of St. Nicholas´ Church.
