Every year in the first week of May a cultural festival called Nordic Sound (Nordischer Klang) is held at Greifswald. This festival is organized and produced by locals and artists from Norway, Sweden, Finnland and the Baltic Nations.

The programme of this one week event comprises exhibitions, films, classical and contemporary music, author´s readings, stage performances, lectures and discussion platforms. It focuses of course on Nordic culture.
